Adam Bischoff Adam Bischoff lost his life at age 15 in the Los Angeles River in 1992.

Adam's death, which was compounded by the lack of swiftwater rescue capability, sparked the development of the pioneering Los Angeles County multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional swiftwater rescue program, which was launched in 1993.

We are honored that Adam Bischoff's family has made a substantial donation to the Higgins & Langley Memorial and Education Fund in support of drowning prevention and education.

We hope to leverage the Bischoff family's generosity and raise an equal amount of money to support our educational programs, including the Swiftwater Rescue News, Drowning Support Network, and our new blogs:
